The New Bulgarian University (NBU) was established on 18th September 1991 upon decision of the Great National Assembly.
The Schools of NBU are: School of Basic Education, Undergraduate School and Graduate School.
The programs of the School of Basic Education provide, in the first two years of study in the Bachelor degree, general educational preparation, interdisciplinary in nature, assisting the students in their choice of specialized bachelor program, forming the needed language and computer skills and providing basic knowledge in the selected professional field.
The programs of the Undergraduate School provide specializing education in the specified professional field through selected modules of the educational program. The students can choose education in one bachelor program or two bachelor programs in parallel. In the first case they choose major and minor modules of the program, and in the second case a? major and minor program.
The Graduate School provides masters and doctoral programs, focusing on the research activity in the education and on the professional specialization.
